Memo address

Related to Exchanges: The Memo is only needed when you send your EOS to an Exchange. Since the Exchanges only have one deposit EOS Account, which they use for all their customers, they need to know a reference to you (mostly your user ID on that platform). If you do not input a memo, you will lose your funds.

Related to private EOS Account: If you send funds to a private EOS Account, there will be no need to enter the Memo.
